Dan and Becca Bowman
Since we were married in 2010, we have hiked hundreds of miles and visited 15 countries together. The furthest we have traveled was for two amazing weeks in India, but the mountains of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest are also perennial favorites. Clearly, it is no exaggeration to say we love being outside, however, we have experienced the downside of the outdoors.
In May of 2016, Dan contracted Lyme Disease. Thankfully, it was caught early, and he made a full recovery. In two separate instances, his father and sister were bitten by ticks, and both developed allergies to red meat.
Previously, Dan worked as an environmental health specialist for a local health bureau. In addition to inspecting restaurants, daycares, schools, and pools, Dan also responded to citizen complaints about environmental health issues including many mosquito complaints.
